The Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament has grown from a local event, to a tournament that draws participants throughout the U.S. and Canada. Many of our participants arrive a week or more before the tournament to pre-fish. By doing so, they stay in our hotels, eat in our restaurants and take in the attractions of Door County. A number of them also bring thier families and make this event a yearly vacation.
The tournament is also well covered by the media, not only on the local level, but also nationally. There are a number of pro-anglers that fish the tournament that write for various fishing publications.

Out of each team's entry fee, $10.00 is donated to a conservation fund. Through the years, the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament has donated over $20,000 in conservation funds for the following:
