 Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament Celebrates 15 Years! 

BASS FISHING -- STURGEON BAY (where else?)  

Lights, camera, action, and we mean “reel” action! That is how to describe the 15^th Annual Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament that will be held May 13^th, 14^th and 15^th in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. From its small beginning 15 years ago, the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament has grown to be the Midwest’s Premier Bass tournament and become synonymous with the best bass fishing tournaments in the country. 

Mercury Marine and Ranger Boats are again our exclusive premiere sponsors for the 2005 tournament. The first place team will take home a brand new Ranger Dual Console Bass Boat powered by a Mercury 200 EFI Outboard and $10,000 in cash!  

Events for the 2005 tournament kick off on Thursday, May 12^th with the annual Golf Scramble at Idlewild Golf Course. Anyone interested in participating in the Golf Scramble, please contact Rick at IdleWild Golf Course in Sturgeon Bay. On Friday, St. Croix Rods presents the Fritz Schurmur Pro-Am Tournament where pros, amateurs, guests and celebrities will hit the water for some great small mouth fishing vying to take home one of those outstanding St. Croix rods or cold hard cash!   

The pros begin their quest Saturday, May 14^th, as the tournament participants take to the water for the first day of the tournament. Each angler knows that they could have a share of the $100,000 in cash and prizes for the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament. When the weigh-in begins at 3:00 p.m. you can feel the excitement under the tent, especially when the big bass scales start smoking!  

“Scooby Doo – where are you?” At the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament under the tent! Charter Communications will be joining the “team” again this year! We are inviting kids of all ages to come with their cameras to have their pictures taken with Scooby Doo! Scooby will be under the tent 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  

Come kick back with us on Saturday night and enjoy the music of “Free Beer” under the tent for the dock dance, sponsored by Baylake Bank. What a way to end the day!
